Kimberly Hassler, currently assistant principal at Richardson Elementary, was named principal for Longview Farm Elementary at the Feb. 16 Board of Education meeting. Mrs. Hassler will begin her new job in July. She replaces Dr. Ryan Rostine, who is retiring in June.
Mrs. Hassler has served as an R-7 elementary assistant principal since July 2014. She has also served as a teacher at Richardson Elementary, at a Park Hill School District elementary and at schools in Independence and Oklahoma. She has worked for the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District since 2004 and has a total of 19 years of experience in education.
A Lee’s Summit resident, Mrs. Hassler earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from William Jewell College, her master’s degree in educational studies from McGill University in Canada and her education specialist degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is a 2014 graduate of the Lee’s Summit R-7 Leadership Academy and a recipient of the Missouri PTA Lifetime Membership Award.
