LSR7 officially a Registered Apprenticeship Program Sponsor

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is officially a U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) Sponsor. The district worked toward this certification throughout the 2021-22 school year, and it will allow LSR7 students a new avenue to participate in school-based and work-based learning.

Now, members of the district’s career education team can build partnerships with local businesses and companies to create agreements based on their needs and the students’ curriculum requirements. As the program develops, students registering for their junior year will be able to enroll in classes with the anticipation of apprenticeship and employment beyond graduation.
After completing an apprenticeship, LSR7 students who participate in this program will have a certified apprenticeship recognized across the United States, setting them up for career success.
