Lee's Summit North, Lee's Summit West speech and debate teams earns national recognition

The Lee's Summit North and Lee's Summit West's speech and debate teams earned national recognition for their work during the 2023-24 school year. LSN's team learned it ranked 70th and LSW ranked 92nd out of more than 1,000 schools across the nation and has been named in the Top 100 schools by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA).

This ranking is based on student participation and the number of degrees they earned through competition, leadership and service. Being named a Top 100 school is one of the prestigious awards the NSDA can give to a school.

LSN's chapter also earned membership in the NSDA's prestigious Societe de 300.This demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.
