Lee's Summit West student presented with Congressional Award Medal

Lee's Summit West senior Ethan Wood earned a Congressional Award Medal from U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II. Ethan was honored for his dedication for community service including more than 400 volunteer hours over the last three years.

Ethan helped establish a 3D printing lab at Operation Breakthrough, distributed hand-painted cards at senior centers, served as a mentor for elementary and middle school robotics teams and volunteered at numerous STEM summer camps.

The Congressional Award is a public partnership created by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative and service in America's youth.
