LSHS Baseball Alumni Play in New Stadium

More than 50 former Lee's Summit High School baseball coaches and players showed up to the new stadium for a weekend of baseball and celebration.

Friday, March 18, the former players participated in an alumni game, both teams led by former coaches. This all led up to the Tiger's first game in the new stadium against Odessa on Saturday, March 19.

During pre-game ceremonies, all the former players in attendance were honored, including the 1972 team on the 50-year anniversary of the second place finish at the Missouri State Championships. The 2020 senior class was also recognized before the game as they were unable to play that year due to the start of the pandemic.

Tigers head coach Jim Mellody organized the two-day event and was joined by three former head coaches.

The brand new stadium was made possible by the 2020 bond issue approved by voters and one of the items on the district's comprehensive facilities master plan.
