LSR7 Educator Named Blue KC Sporting Samaritan

Sporting KC and Blue KC honored LSR7 educator Dorothy Drake as a Blue KC Sporting Samaritan, which highlights students and teachers who make the KC community a better place to live, work and play. 

Dorothy Drake retired from Trailridge Elementary in 2010 as a K-6 Reading Specialist but has since returned as a substitute teacher. She has helped fill in for music, art, physical education, special education, recess and nutrition services. 

“When I don’t have a classroom assignment, I am fortunate to work one-on-one with students who benefit from additional reading support,” said Drake. “These days are extremely rewarding and fill my heart with happiness and pride.”
