LSR7 World Language Students Earn Multiple Awards at UCM Film Festival

World language students from all three high schools represented the district at the annual University of Central Missouri World Language Film Festival, earning numerous awards for original student produced films in Chinese, French, German and Spanish.

The festival recognizes student creativity, storytelling and language proficiency through short films created in world language classrooms.

LSW German

  • Die Leicht Unbequemen (The Mildly Inconvenienced) — best German comedy; second best screenplay
  • Kontrollverlust (Loss of Control) — best German film (intermediate level); second best German film overall; best German drama; best use of German language (intermediate level); first place, technical achievements; second best ensemble cast

LSW Spanish

  • El Rey del Español — first place, best comedy; second place, best Spanish film
  • La Magia de la Confianza — second place, best technical production

  • Fiesta en la Cocina — third place, spoken film
