Summit Success Stories - Week of April 15
Winter Guard
Congratulations to Lee's Summit West's Titan Pride Winter Guard. The group attended the Mid Continent Color Guard Association State Championships and came in second in both their individual round and their division. The team also attended its first Winter Guard International competition in more than a decade and came in third place!
Modern Language Film Festival
Modern language students from Lee's Summit West and Lee's Summit High School showcased their talents at the UCM Foreign Language Festival in Warrensburg yesterday (April 12). They submitted their own films, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments! The event featured 22 participating school districts and a total of 115 submitted films. LSR7 students took home the following honors:

eMagazine Media Festival
STA Digital Media Creatives brought home several wins from the eMagine Media Festival. In addition to six Top Five selections and several Top Three finishes, students took home the most prestigious award of the festival, Best Short Film.
The following are how every student fared in the competition:
- 2nd Place Commercial: Caleb Hankins for his AKG Headphones commercial
- 2nd Place Music Video: Matthew Hilger, Mason Hodapp, and Hannah Jones for their original music video "Festive Spice"
- 2nd Place Hype Video: Miles Thurmond with music by Matthew Hilger for the hype video "2024 Red Kingdom Showcase"
- Winners, Influencer Podcast Subcategory: Caleb Hankins, Michael McNamee, and Conor Nolan with their podcast "Dopamine Deprived"
- Winner, Comedy Film Subcategory: Nathan Fredlund film with original music and story, "Uke Unleashed"
