President's Lifetime Achievement Award

Hawthorn Hill Elementary Attendance Secretary Sue Markley and Y Club Lee's Summit Site Director Lorenzo Harrison received the President's Lifetime Achievement Award at the school's last day of school assembly Thursday. Each received a Padfolio, Certificate, and Pen signed by President of the United States Joe Biden for the award, which recognizes those who contribute more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime. Congratulations!

LSW student William Brown holds up Blue Slumbers for Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II

Congratulations are in order for Lee's Summit West Student William Brown. His art piece Blue Slumbers was selected as 5th District of Missouri's winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II announced William was the winner on Tuesday. He will receive two roundtrip tickets to Washington D.C. to attend a reception in honor of the winners from congressional districts across the nation. His work will also hang in the U.S. Capitol for a year.
