Professional Development

The mission of the Professional Development department is to equip educators to provide excellent educational opportunities in a safe and caring environment.

Our commitment to Professional Development guides our efforts to support student achievement, the implementation of best practices, the continuous improvement process, the productive use of technology and strong partnerships with students, staff, parents and community.

Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) supports district educators in their efforts to improve instruction and student achievement. It consists of district and building representatives who assess and develop professional development needs for staff.

Graduate Courses

LSR7 offers educators who have been employed for more than a year tuition reimbursement for graduate courses provided through an LSR7 and University of Central Missouri partnership.

MINT: Mentoring and Induction for New Teachers

Teachers who are in the first three years of their public education career become involved in the district's Beginning Teacher Assistance Program called MINT (Mentoring and Induction for New Teachers). New teachers also attend the LSR7 New Teacher Academy prior to the school year.
