ADVANCED YEARBOOK

Grades: 10 –12

Credit: 1 unit
PREREQUISITE: Teacher approval; must have completed Introduction to Yearbook; strongly recommend B average in English;
recommend previous or concurrent Journalism course

This course expands students’ knowledge of school yearbook production and focuses on in-depth training for feature writing,
advanced layout and thematic design, advertising, and photography techniques. Students will also refine Indesign techniques.
Students will continue to sell advertising and meet deadlines necessary to produce the school yearbook. Advanced Yearbook
students will be trained for leadership roles within the yearbook staff. Students will have an opportunity to attend national
conventions, enter international contests, and earn a journalism letter. Class may be taken for elective credit or practical art
credit.
