CERAMICS I

Grades: 10-12

Credit: 0.5 unit
PREREQUISITE: B- in BOTH Foundations of Drawing and Foundations of Design or Visual Arts or teacher approval.

Students will use hand-building clay construction methods of pinch, coil and slab to create functional and decorative
artwork. Wheel throwing will be introduced. Students will learn clay vocabulary and various methods of decoration. An
emphasis is placed on craftsmanship and creativity. This class may require a small class fee.
