This course utilizes an accelerated, analytical approach to literature, grammar, composition, and vocabulary. Students will read
closely and think critically about various literary genres, including fiction and informational texts. Students will write for a variety
of purposes, applying effective language skills for authentic audiences. This course focuses on thematic units that explore the
modern human experience. Thematic units provide a basis for extensive literary analysis and multiple writing projects. Students
complete oral and written presentations as well as a grammar and vocabulary study.
