Students will read closely and think critically about various literary genres, including fiction and informational texts. They will
write for different real-world purposes, applying effective language skills for authentic audiences. This course works to deepen
their understanding of relationships and help them develop a sense of belonging. Students will develop depth and stamina through
independent reading. They will improve grammar, usage, and vocabulary through sustained practice.
