Do you have career aspirations related to Firefighting and first responding? The Fire Fighter Academy capstone prepares
students to become certified as a Firefighter while completing training in areas like fire suppression, search and rescue and
basic first aid. Students will be immersed in the Lee’s Summit Fire Department fire training with a state of Missouri certified Fire Fighter
instructor through drills in the operation of fire hoses for suppressing car and structure fires, extricating victims from car
accidents, a burn tower, and learning how to provide emergency first aid to patients. Students will have the opportunity to earn State of Missouri accredited certifications in Fire Fighter I, II and HazMat Awareness and Operations, National Incident Management Systems 100, 200 and 700 and BLS CPR for healthcare providers, that are required for professional fire fighters.
