INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES (ONLINE ONLY)

NOTE: Offered through R-7 Online Academy
This course will be online only with a hybrid hands-on lab portion. The course will require students to provide their own transportation to 4-5 before or after school lab experiences on-site at the Paradise Park Campus Wildlife Center. Students will explore various aspects of agriculture and environmental studies including plants, animals, natural resources, and agricultural mechanics. Students will be introduced to potential career pathways and post-secondary opportunities in these fields. Through practical applications and projects, students will develop employability skills such as problem-solving, research, data analysis, teamwork, and personal responsibility. Students will investigate and experiment in areas like soil science, water systems, animal science, plant science, energy, technology, lab skills, and research methods. An important co-curricular component of the course is participation in FFA and FFA activities, which are also in-person.
