Rationale:

• Ensures Hazel Grove can adequately serve the needs of its current and future student population and provides safety and accessibility upgrades.
• Moves the elementary building away from road traffic.
• Puts the school at parity for the standard elementary campus size of 15-20 acres.
• The current campus is limited by its size and proximity to traffic, which limits the expansion necessary to meet student needs.
• Prepares Hazel Grove to accommodate anticipated growth in the North side of Lee’s Summit.
