The following is a preliminary rendering of a proposed addition to support early budget estimates, and does not reflect a final design process.

A continuation of the work started with the 2020 bond cycle integrating sixth grade into all LSR7 middle schools.

Project Scope and Cost

  • Scope: 6th Grade Addition, Program Improvements, and Site Work.
  • Estimated Cost: $32 million
  • Original Build: 1969

Summary:

Creating a space that allows for equal opportunity, access to co-curricular activities, and a high quality academic environment that matches the level of facilities at other LSR7 middle schools.

Building Priorities:

  • Future-Ready Learning Space
  • Campus-wide Improvements
  • Interior Building Operations
  • Program Facility Upgrades

Rationale:

  • Continues initial enhancements started in 2020 to integrate sixth grade into middle school.
  • Adds a sixth-grade pod — a programmatic improvement that aligns with the design standards of our newest middle schools.
  • Creates dedicated spaces for each grade level, supporting our seventh and eighth-grade students.
  • Prepares PLMS to accommodate anticipated enrollment increases due to the development of PRI land in the Southwest corner.
  • Enhances site circulation through entry points and traffic loops to make campus navigation more efficient and user-friendly.
