Strategic Planning

Goal 1:

• Each subgroup (including the All Students group) will increase the number of students achieving average, high-average or high on the NWEA annually (Spring data).
• At least 50% of students in each subgroup (including the All Students group) will reach their identified NWEA Fall to Spring growth goal.     
• By 2027, 98% of graduating students will possess one or more Market Value Asset(s).                         
• By 2027, LSR7 graduates will earn 75% or higher of available College and Career Readiness Assessment Points as calculated by MSIP6.                             

Goal 2:

• Favorable responses to the survey question “Overall, how much do you feel like you belong at school?” will increase annually for students in grades 4-12. 
• Favorable responses to the survey question “How often are you able to control your emotions when needed?” will increase annually for students in grades 4-12.
• Favorable responses to the survey question “How often do you worry about violence at your school? will increase annually for students in grades 4-12.
• Participation in clubs, activities, and athletics; co-curricular courses; dual credit courses and other center-based/collaborative programs will increase for students in sub-groups.
• The number of incidents for the following school discipline infractions will decrease each year: Assault, Confrontation, Endangering Safety of Students/Staff, Fighting, Striking a Staff Member, Weapon Possession, &  Inappropriate Physical Contact.      

Goal 3:

• A minimum operating reserve fund balance of 25% will be maintained as measured by the Missouri Department of Education’s Annual School Board Report.
• The annual assessment score on a set of nationally recognized technology information security best practice standards will increase annually.
• Transportation, Nutrition, Purchasing/Distribution, Facilities and Security, Purchasing and Distribution, and Before and After School Care services will meet their identified respective standards annually. 
• Comprehensive Facilities Master Plans (CFMP) identified deadlines will be will be met.        

Goal 4:

• Using a 2024-25 benchmark, the district will increase the number of unique individuals participating in external and internal district-level engagement by 30% before June 2027. 
• The number of business partner-involved curricular experiences and/or career exploration opportunities for students will increase annually. 
• Student participation in client-connected projects, internships, and/or apprenticeships will increase annually.             

Goal 5:

• The district will recruit, retain, and promote a diverse workforce within the district, increasing staff diversity as representative of the student population. 
• Favorable responses from certified and classified staff answering the question: “Overall, how much do you feel like you belong at your workplace?” will increase annually.
• Annually positions will be paid in the top third when compared to the Kansas City metro area (Missouri side) at the first and last step of the salary schedule. 
• The LSR7 staff retention rate will be in the top 1/3 when compared to the Kansas City metro area (Missouri side).                      

The 50-member CSIP Committee met for seven two-hour evening meetings from September 2023 through spring 2024.
