• All children in households receiving benefits from the Food Stamp Program/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) or Temporary Assistance/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), are eligible for free meals. Foster children that are under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free meals.
• Children participating in their school’s Head Start program are eligible for free meals.
• Children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant are eligible for free meals.
• Children may receive free or reduced price meals if your household’s income is within the limits on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines (listed above). Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals if your household income falls at or below the limits on this chart.

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are available. Only one application per household is needed. Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to complete the application for free and reduced meals online via a computer, tablet, chrome book, or cell phone. The application is
available at the following link: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application.

Paper copies of the form are also available at your school building or at the Nutrition Office located at 702 SE 291 Highway Lee's Summit, MO 64063.

Free and reduced lunch applications must be completed each
year. New applications are typically available in July.

Your building and community partners offer various other benefits to support families. Principals and schools within the district may provide items such as field trips, school supplies, yearbooks, class and exam fees, activity expenses, and even cap and gown for graduation. There's also support for travel expenses related to required classes and field trips. Community resources further supplement these offerings through partnerships that may include resources such as instrument rentals, snack packs etc.

For example:

• instrument rental is available through a local music fund, and snack packs can be accessed via community food assistance programs.
• Mobile internet access via hotspot devices can be requested through the principal, following a designated process.

If you have needs beyond these listed resources, it's encouraged to reach out to your school counselor or mental health therapist for personalized assistance or to discuss further financial assistance options.
