Early Childhood Programs

The Lee's Summit R-7 School District has early childhood programs for students turning four by July 31, 2026.

The pre-Kindergarten program is housed at Prairie View Elementary. Pre-K is free for families who qualify for free/reduced lunch and there are a select number of tuition-based spots. There are also half-day programs for qualifying students at LSR7's Great Beginnings Early Education Centers. Both programs are for students living in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District boundaries and prepare students for their Kindergarten year.

Get Started:

  • Fill out the interest form below to schedule your child's developmental screening.
  • All prospective students must go through DIAL-4 screening at Great Beginnings so they may be appropriately placed in an LSR7 Early Childhood program.
  • Enrollment will be determined by lottery and families notified of selection status by May.
  • Selected students must provide proof-of-age and proof-of-residency during annual enrollment in July/August.
