CYBER OPERATIONS

Prerequisite: Network Operations with a B- or higher or teacher recommendation; GPA: 2.5 cumulative or better; Attendance: 90% or better; Math: Algebra I, B- or higher; Reading/Writing: 10th grade level; Other requirement: Keyboarding, minimum 30 WPM

Uncovering cybercrime, cyber espionage, and other networking threats are just some of the exciting cyber security jobs spanning across every industry. Learn the skills to join this fast-growing field and take advantage of the opportunities found in security operation centers. In this course students will learn security concepts, security monitoring, host based analysis, network intrusion analysis, and security policies procedures. This course aligns with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework to support consistent communication language for cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. This course covers the information required for TestOut Ethical Hacker Pro and Cisco CCST Cybersecurity certification exams. Cyber Operations is the 2nd semester course with Cyber Security taken 1st semester.
