This course targets novice-mid proficiency and emphasizes foundational communication skills in real-life contexts. Units focus on introductions and greetings, family and friends, hobbies and free time, school and learning, city life and weather, and food and dining. Students practice exchanging personal information, expressing preferences and feelings, describing people, places, and activities, and sharing simple plans. Cultural exploration is integrated throughout, including German-speaking geography, family life, leisure activities, the school system, shopping and clothing habits, weather customs, and dining practices. Because this class emphasizes communication, regular attendance is required. This class is not intended for native speakers.
