This career development course introduces students to the qualifications and information necessary to succeed within this growing industry. Students cultivate skills of communication, cooperation, leadership and critical thinking while developing their knowledge of lifespan development and the impact of societal conditions. Students explore complex social issues with a focus on developing empathy and cultural sensitivity, in order to effectively engage with and support diverse populations. This course would be beneficial for students considering a career in public service, social work, counseling, nursing, massage therapy, teaching, training, etc.
