MENTORING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Teacher Approval/Application - Student must complete graduation requirements in the PE Dept. prior to taking
this course (FOF + 1)

Mentoring in Physical Education provides students the opportunity to serve as peer mentors for students with disabilities. This course focuses on meeting the diverse physical education needs of students with disabilities through positive peer interaction, skill development, and cooperative activities. Mentors will develop leadership, communication, empathy, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—valuable for post-secondary success. Students are expected to demonstrate encouragement, respect, and appropriate dress for all class activities.
