This course utilizes an accelerated, analytical approach to literature, grammar, composition, and vocabulary. Students will read
closely and think critically about various literary genres, including fiction and informational texts. Students will write for different
real-world purposes, applying effective language skills for authentic audiences. Students will read a variety of texts to deepen their
understanding of relationships and help them develop a sense of belonging. Students will develop depth and stamina through
independent reading. They will improve grammar, usage, and vocabulary through sustained practice.
