This career development course introduces students to the qualifications and information necessary to succeed within this growing
industry. Students cultivate skills of communication, cooperation, leadership and critical thinking while developing their knowledge
of lifespan development and the impact of societal conditions. Students explore controversial subject matter such as economic
disparity, mental illness and its stigma, gender, etc. to recognize how to best work with a variety of populations. This course would
be beneficial for students considering a career in public service, social work, counseling, nursing, massage therapy, teaching,
training, etc.
