Mentoring in Physical Education will give regular education students the opportunity and privilege to serve as a mentor to
students with disabilities. This course addresses the unique physical education needs of students with a variety of disabilities in
a setting that allows for positive interaction with peers, achieve success, improve social skills and build self-esteem. In this class,
mentors will gain and develop valuable post-secondary soft skills such as leadership and problem-solving skills, communication,
empathy and teamwork. The experiences and skills gained in this class will serve both groups of students. Peers always need to
be encouraging and dress appropriately for activities.
