The Innovation Track provides a guided pathway to completing up to 30 hours of college credit while in high school. Upon high school graduation, an Innovation Track student can potentially complete a four-year college degree within three years.
To receive all the benefits from the Innovation Track, you are encouraged to start the Innovation Track as early as possible. Your school counselor can help you plan out your schedule.
Participation in the Innovation Track will allow you to quickly complete a two- or four-year degree or workforce certificate program. Take dual credit/ dual enrollment courses once and have them count twice as you earn high school and college credit at the same time.
You will receive personalized support from staff at Metropolitan Community College, the University of Central Missouri and your high school.
MCC dual credit / dual enrollment reduces college tuition costs and increases the value of your high-school diploma. There is no application fee for dual credit/dual enrollment students.
Qualifying students receive free tuition and textbooks, funded by Lee’s Summit R-7.
Transportation from your high school to the MCC - Longview Campus is provided by the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, with students also having the opportunity to provide their own transportation if they prefer.
As an Innovation Track student, you will have full student privileges at MCC and UCM including advising, tutoring, libraries, student services and other programs.
Students are able to seamlessly transfer to MCC, UCM and other colleges and universities.
Innovation Track courses are taught by qualified faculty with advanced degrees in their areas of expertise.
Classes incorporate college content preparing you for success in college and career.
Dual credit / dual enrollment allows you to balance convenience, affordability and flexibility while gaining an outstanding education and a jump start on your future career.
All new, degree-seeking freshmen who began the Innovation Track are eligible for the following scholarships:
The Innovation Track scholarship of $500 during their final semester at UCM.
A 15-to-Finish scholarship of up to $1,000 in their senior year if they complete within four years.
UCM’s Red and Black scholarship of up to $5,000.
